There were seriously hundreds of these things crossing the road, some smashed, some in progress. They're huge too, like 1/2" wide and 6" long! Yuck.

This is seriously the nicest road we've ever been on in Peru. It goes from coast to jungle, is maintained by a private company, has several tolls, but wow it's worth it. They have little emergency cell-stations along the way, they really stay on top of the landslides and the road is pretty nicely paved for a majority of the way. Very nice. Very unusual for Peru.

We stopped for lunch in a little town we'd never been in before, that we'd heard had a nice ice cream shop. We looked around for somewhere to eat lunch and settled on one place having no idea if it was good or not. it was not. Micah says it was the worst menu we'd ever had. hahahahah. oh well.
